| Color Options for Composite Recreational Racers Most composite canoes have a shiny, colored, "Gel-coat" finish. We offer 8 colors, and any composite model can be made in any of them. Our Kevlar or Graphite Ultra-light canoes do not have a colored Gel-coat finish. We call this a "Skin-coat," or a "Natural" finish. The color of the canoe is the color of the materials used to build it. A colored finish is a no-cost option for these hulls, but it does add weight - as much as 5 to 8 lb., depending on the size of the canoe. Sun fades all colors but darkens natural Kevlar. Light colors fade less and hide scratches better than dark colors do. NOTE: Color rendition varies greatly among computer monitors. Therefore, the color fidelity of these samples cannot be guaranteed. Use these samples only as an approximation of the colors.
